Let me take you back to the start. I was born and raised in a slum in Lagos Nigeria. All I experienced as a child was abject poverty topped with a good dose of sexual abuse.

After years of domestic abuse, my mother finally left my dad taking all six children with her.

All she could afford was one bedroom in a shared flat with other families. It was dilapidated and mould-infested. I desperately wanted to help my mom but I didn’t know how. Somehow she found the money to pay for my university education but after school, there was little to no prospects of good employment.

I decided that going abroad would give me a better shot at life. I worked all jobs I could find and saved every single penny. After four years I had saved $18,500.

I applied to study for a Master’s in Information Technology in the UK and paid half the tuition fees upfront hoping to work while studying to pay the rest.

Life in the UK for a black African immigrant was HARD to say the least. I found a job as a Retail Assistant in Marks & Spencer’s during the day and a security guard in a warehouse at night.

My dream of a better life didn’t quite pan out the way I hoped.

I decided to move to Canada in 2016 to seek greener pastures and during the application process, I crossed paths with someone at the Canadian embassy who talked about life coaching and how you can use the power of your thoughts to change your circumstances and create your dream life

I had tried everything else at this point so I had nothing to lose.

That was the moment everything changed.

In three years of arriving in Canada I was living in my own home and bought two flats as investment properties. I have also built a sizable portfolio in the financial markets.

Above all, I’ve been able to transform the lives of my family. My mother now lives like a queen in her own home.
